I am inputting UK postcodes and it keeps placing the postcodes in america and other countries. How can I stop this?

I am inputting UK postcodes and its keeps placing them in america and other countries. How can I stop this from happening??

You can improve the address placement if you go to the Options button on the top right and select another geocoding service and/or add a address suffix. E.g. you could select “Mapbox” and add “United Kingdom”, or try some other combinations.

You can test your settings in the autocomplete searchbox on the top left. If you type an address, after a few seconds a list of results will appear. If you do not get the results you expect, select another geocoder and try again.

Did you try setting another geocoding service and adding a suffix?

Geocoding and suffix are in the Options, the button on the top right. You’ll need to register an account for that, but the free subscription RouteXL 20 will do.

Which geocoding is best, depends on your location and input. What works well for one, may not work for the other. You can test your settings with the autocomplete searchbox on the top left. If you type an address, after a few seconds a list of results appears.

I would definitely give Mapbox a try and signal their developers in case of bad placements:

For the suffix you can also try the local version, e.g. “Italia”, or even in combination with the region, e.g. “Piemonte, Italia”.

If partial, incomplete addresses can not be found, use the full information including street, housenumber, postcode, city, state/regio/province and country to locate addresses on the map.

If nothing helps, make Mapbox your default and signal problems to their developers:

I am having the same problem as above but I have been unable to fix it to allow me to search only by postcode?

I am not sure how to change the geocoding service or add a suffix

I changed Geocoding preference to “Mapbox” and added “United Kingdom” to the Suffix address, that seems to have fixed it

I’m having the same problem, what geocoding and suffix would you recommend as there’s so many?

I tried to use all Geoconding preference and added ITALY to the suffix address but several italian addresses are found abroad.
