Hey there
)
I have 300-350 clients who I should visit regularely. So I wanted to use Route XL to create 36 different routes with up to max. 10 clients/ route each starting and ending @home. I need this function once every 6 months. How can I achieve this? I think this a very common saleman (literally) task.

Your use case is indeed not uncommon for sales teams. Our multiple rounds feature is available for splitting your clients into manageable daily routes. Each round can represent a separate day, allowing you to plan smaller numbers of clients per day.

However, our current limit is 200 locations per route, if you upgrade to our RouteXL 200 plan. To accommodate your 300-350 clients, we’d recommend splitting them into two sets (e.g. by region such as north and south). You can then create two routes, each with up to 18 rounds (days).
If you prefer a more cost-effective approach, you could split your clients into four sets of max 100 clients each, with 9 rounds (days) per route. This would allow you to use the RouteXL 100 plan, which is more affordable.
To ensure realistic planning, based on your 10 clients per day, we suggest adjusting the default service time per client (e.g. 30-60 minutes) to account for the time spent at each location.

Hey,
I did as you told me and tried with 1/2 of the clients. Although I have optimized with as few kilometers as possible, the result seems to be totally useless: I have start/stopp point near Stuttgart. Instead of one tour with all my clients near Lake Konstanz it gives me many tours with only some clients there and lets me drive 450km each day. The clients around Stuttgart are also not combined, so instead of having a short tour with all clients nearby, some the clients farthest away are added to the round.
My idea was not driving as much km as possible, but as low! So it seems to me I have paid 10€ for nothing
We’re sorry to hear that the results didn’t meet your expectations. Our algorithm aims to optimize routes based on the parameters you set, such as time windows, service times, and maximum round time. Sometimes, complex routing problems can lead to unexpected outcomes, especially if there are conflicting constraints or if the algorithm is trying to balance multiple factors.
To help us better understand and address the issue, could you please share the input data (e.g. the list of addresses), the settings you used (e.g. service time per client, time windows, maximum round time, etc), a link to the route (you can generate this in the route planner and share it with us). You can leave these details here, or email us at info@routexl.com
