I have created two optimized routes that I use for driving directions for members in the community.
Once the route is created and I compare the route, 3 of the 20 houses have a slightly different address. For example, if I have house 572, the house next door 568 is listed on the route. The balance of addresses are correct.
I have tested with “Check Address Precise” in the Geocoding options, but nothing changes.
Is there any way to have the exact addresses I input displayed or is it calculating the geo coordinates?
When you create a route RouteXL uses external geocoding services to convert your addresses into coordinates (latitude and longitude) for accurate mapping. The “Check Address Precise” option is designed to warn you if the coordinates are not precisely on a rooftop, but it does not change the coordinates themselves.
If you are comparing the route to another platform, such as Google Maps, differences may appear because RouteXL exports the coordinates from our map, not the original addresses. Different geocoding services may interpret addresses slightly differently, which can lead to small discrepancies. What you can try:
Change the Geocoding Service: In Options > Geocoding > Preference, you can select a different geocoding service. Some services may provide more accurate coordinates for your specific addresses, e.g. Mapbox or Here.
Manually Adjust Markers: Before creating the route, check the addresses on the map. If you notice any markers are not in the correct location, you can drag and drop them to the exact spot you prefer. This ensures the route uses the coordinates you choose.
